Recent Street Photography, 6 February 2014

Good Evening:

Still practicing my 30 Shot technique. Nowhere near as good as the great street photographers, of course, but I’m (slowly) getting better. The first two shots come from Valencia Street and the latter two come from the Upper Haight. I have (very slowly) gotten better at holding the point-and-shoot steady and mostly level, and all of these are uncropped and unfiltered.

  1. Those are some very capturing angles! I especially like the third photo. The placement and timing seemed to work very well for you 🙂 I am really excited to see more! I could never turn photographs into art and am jealous of people that can.

    • konchk: Thanks for writing. For me, a lot of photography is just plain dumb luck, as in the third picture; what makes it work is the V-shape of bright colors in the foreground, from the man’s T-shirt on the left to the multi-colored backpack on the right. One second too soon or too late, and the effect is gone. But I didn’t know that at the time; it was just a random snap. Vonn Scott Bair
