The rains came late this afternoon to San Francisco, but not one steady heavy rain; rather one brief light rain after another, with brief intervals allowing the sidewalk to partially dry out. At 5:00 p.m., when I left work for the day, another quick sprinkle had just begun, with an interesting (well, interesting to me) effect upon one particular square on the sidewalk.
The older rain drops are wider, lighter, and have blurred edges, unlike the smaller, darker, sharp-edged drops of the new rain. After a few minutes, the sidewalk looked like this.
Well, it doesn’t count as “street photography.” Do we have a “sidewalk photography” category?
