We had a pair of unexpected guests on the 12th Floor of San Francisco PUC HQ during lunch hour:
Notice the two people eating lunch and reading. They hadn’t even a clue that they had guests until I told them.
And that what’s wrong with them there kids today!
They sit around reading their fancy books and newspapers, so totally absorbed in their reading that they become oblivious to the real world around them! It wasn’t like that back in the day. Why, in my time we didn’t have books and papers, all we had were smart phones and tablets, and that was good enough. We were more connected to the real world back then! We paid more attention to what was going on around us; if a guy in a gorilla suit went dancing past us with an umbrella, we would look up and take notice. Not like kids today.
I tell you, what with all these books and newspapers and magazines that you see nowadays, modern young people just aren’t paying attention to the world around them. They just stick their noses into the printed page and just isolate themselves from everything.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
Me, I’m gonna stick to my iPhone and iPad.
Go ahead, call me an old fogey. I don’t care.
