Weekly Photo Challenge: Split-Second Story

Standard

Good Evening:

OK, OK, no more fooling around (as in here and here) with this week’s Challenge. Time for a straightforward interpretation of a truly challenging Challenge, one that made me think about the whole purpose, reasons and aesthetics of street photography. Here are some recent shots that I hope tell a story in a single frame.

The Boss

Update on another story. The world premiere of my short play The Duck, part of the Sheherezade festival of new works, is only a Saturday away. Tonight, “final dress.” Friday night, previews. Saturday night, it’s showtime! I did attend a recent rehearsal, just a straightforward staging in a green room with no costumes, sets and props, and the run-through left me stunned, almost as if it didn’t seem possible that I could have written that script. It felt too good for me.

Next up is a picture that I’m still editing (note the custom cropping, non-standard proportions).

The Lothario of Market Street

A strong candidate for some serious work in Photoshop.

Some random shots.

I hope they all succeeded in telling a story in a single shot.
