Many of the floor-to-ceiling windows at work have an intricate pattern of dots painted on the bottom quarter of each pane. I don’t quite know what the point might be–perhaps a psychological trick to prevent people from suffering vertigo when standing only a few inches away?
Another wild guess in lieu of actual science. Sigh.
Anyhow, the dots, sunlight and shadows sometimes produce a neat effect.
